Michael Johnson, DMD, FACS is an oral maxillofacial surgeon who sees patients at Coastal Connecticut OMS. He is full-time faculty at Yale-New Haven Hospital where he serves as the program director for the Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Training Program and associate chief of Dental Services. He has been involved in various research projects and has mentored multiple Yale residents resulting in publications and presentations at national meetings. Dr. Johnson has lectured on topics that include head and neck history and physical exam, craniofacial, maxillofacial bone grafting for dental implants, orthognathic surgery, maxillofacial trauma, head and neck infections, anesthesia, safety culture, office-based emergency preparedness, and the management of medically complex patients. Additionally, he teaches courses in surgical anatomy, oral maxillofacial pathology, and anesthesia emergency management.
