Bina Katechia, BDS, MSc, is Associate Professor and Chair of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. She earned her dental degree from the University of Glasgow and Master’s in Oral Medicine from the University of London. A dynamic leader and advocate for excellence, Dr. Katechia serves as President of both the Connecticut and Northeast Societies of Pediatric Dentistry and is a member of the AAPD/AAPD Foundation/Ultradent Leadership Institute. She has published extensively and helps shape national examination standards through the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Passionate about mentorship and creating thriving workplace cultures, she empowers professionals to lead with purpose. In recognition of her impact, Dr. Katechia is the 2025 recipient of the AAPD Lewis A. Kay Excellence in Education Award.
