Awilda Maldonado is the Health Equity Officer for the Connecticut Dental Health Partnership, The Dental Plan for HUSKY Health (Medicaid). She leads the organizations Oral Health Equity and Culturally Linguistic Appropriate Services (CLAS) strategies working to ensure all members have equitable access to oral health services. Awilda has worked in the public health field for over 20 years with a focus on reducing health disparities and achieving health among Hispanic/Latina/Black African American women in Connecticut. She has presented nationally on these efforts and was selected as a Culturally Linguistic Appropriate Services Ambassador by Connecting to Care, a statewide effort to blend and integrate ALL child-serving systems into a Network of Care and chairs the CLAS Learning Communities to assist organizations in building Health Equity Plans.
