Joseph Piecuch, DMD, MD is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts (B.A.), Harvard University (D.M.D.), and the University of Washington (M.D.). He completed internships in Dentistry (Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center), General Surgery (University of Washington) and Residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (University of Washington). In 1985, Dr. Piecuch resigned his tenured faculty position at UCONN to start a private practice of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Avon, CT, retiring in 2008, and returning to UCONN as clinical professor. Dr. Piecuch has been president of the Hartford Dental Society and the CSOMS, a member of the CT Dental Commission, editor of the CSDA Communicator, associate editor-in-chief of the IJOMS, editor of two review textbooks, and has published extensively in scientific literature.
